Full Moon in Virgo
Mandala Moon
Molly Hall About.com

This year's Virgo Full Moon is on March 19th, 2011. It's exact at 11:10 am Pacific, 2:20 pm Eastern and 6:10 pm London/GMT. For Aussies in Sydney, it's Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 5:10:00 AM. Find your time with the World Clock Converter.

The Full Moon is in Virgo, the most physically sensitive of signs. Maybe that's why I feel achy and weary -- sympathy pains for Mother Earth as she cracks out of her shell? If you're at all sensitive, give yourself time to be daydreamy and keep it simple.

The Full Moon is at 29 Virgo, opposite then to water sign Pisces. It's mutable mania, for a Full Moon of getting a cosmic tune-up. Are you ready? If you keep an open heart, miracles could happen. Don't overthink it, allow the shifts to happen.

Supermoon

And maybe you've heard it's a Supermoon -- it's going to a big one from our vantage point. "When the Moon hits the sky, like a big pizza pie, that's Amore!" At its closest to Earth, the lunar pull will be strong. The instinct (Moon) to know what needs healing (Virgo) can lead to breakthroughs, though they may at first feel like breakdowns!

This is the part -- with all this mutable energy -- when the Tibetan monks brush away all they've created. Mutable is breaking what's fixed apart, so the pieces can be rearranged into something new. And at this degree, it's a wrap up, for last minute tweaking.

Illuminated or Illuminasty?

Full Moons shine a big light, and often are a time of the Reveal. In natural Virgo, we catch a glimpse of what's natural, and what's unnatural, an artificial overlay. My sense is that there's a real agenda to keep us disconnected from the source of power, the Earth and its energies.

Astrologer/mystics like John Lash present compelling research, to show that in moving toward simulations of everything -- food, games, "reality," we lose our instinctive humanity. This is where we get into BIG trouble, and are easily manipulated. The name illuminati is given to those who would use occult (hidden) wisdom for worldly ends. It's time now to gain confidence in our own multidimensionality, and skills to meet any force, seen and unseen. This is a Full Moon to really see what's wholesome and what's corrupting. To discern who are friends of humanity, and who are its enemies.

Interestingly, the Sabian symbol for the Moon at 29 Virgo is, "A seeker after occult knowledge is reading an ancient scroll which illumines his mind." On this, Cathy Pagano of Wisdom of Astrology, writes, "Secret, sacred knowledge is available to us – we have only to turn within to discover Lady Wisdom speaking to us. It is our intuition and our connection to the Creative Imagination that illumines the Mind."

It's time to fully engage all these natural gifts, and see where it takes us. If there's sorcery that keeps humanity in what Barbara Hand Clow calls, a timelock, this Full Moon can break us out of that spell. This could be our big moment to break out, just as Mother Earth is doing. It's leaving a matrix that's kept us limited, and expanding our sense of who we are and what's possible.

Virgo and Pisces are a marriage of the natural and supernatural. And what we're asked to do, is claim more of our ability to see through deception, beyond mind games of duality, and take charge of our destiny. This is the call of Aries, and the promise of a real new start.

Other Influences:

Neptune is also at its last degree (29) in Aquarius. And kindred spirit-seeker Venus is nearby, also in Aquarius. This compels us to 'tone' with others, and see how the harmonics play out. We can sense the vibes, and know whether or not we're in synch. The ability to vision together is powerful, especially using the 'net.

Saturn Libra is in opposition to both Jupiter and Mercury in Aries. Any grand schemes are considered from many angles. It's helpful to get feedback from a trusted source, for perspective. We need each other as sounding boards.

May you be showered with comfort, and rearranged in the most surprising ways. This feels like one of those all hands on deck moments, when all prayers and all practical care is needed. We are busting out of what's grown false and ill-fitting. It's time to expand, and have faith through the growing pains.

To see a World in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And Eternity in an hour.
